LIVE INTERPRETER · LEGAL

Terms of Service

These terms govern access to and use of Run Up Studio Live Interpreter, including the browser application, related account features, subscriptions, and future native applications.

Effective date: July 20, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Live Interpreter, you agree to these Terms, the product Privacy Notice, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and AI and Interpretation Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

2. What the service does

Live Interpreter is an automated real-time language tool that may receive microphone audio, recognize speech, translate language, display subtitles, and generate spoken output. Available languages, providers, modes, latency, and output quality may change over time.

The service is not a certified human interpretation service and does not guarantee complete, literal, culturally appropriate, or error-free interpretation.

3. Eligibility and accounts

The service is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use. We may require an account for paid access, saved settings, synchronized history, or other features.

You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, activity under your account, and promptly reporting unauthorized access.

4. Microphone access and participant consent

You control when microphone access begins and ends. You must provide any notice and obtain any permission required before using the service to process another person's voice or conversation.

Do not secretly record, monitor, transcribe, or process confidential communications. Laws differ by location and circumstance. You are responsible for determining and following the rules that apply to you and every participant.

5. Your content

You retain your rights in speech, transcripts, translations, custom vocabulary, and other content you submit. You grant Run Up Studio and its service providers a limited right to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service as described in the Privacy Notice and active product controls.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit content and that doing so does not violate law, privacy, confidentiality, contract, or intellectual-property rights.

6. Prohibited use

You may not use the service for unlawful surveillance, harassment, deception, impersonation, discrimination, exploitation, unauthorized interception, illegal content, malware, attacks, credential theft, or attempts to bypass access, usage, or security controls.

Additional restrictions appear in the Acceptable Use Policy and are incorporated into these Terms.

7. High-stakes limitations

Do not rely on Live Interpreter as the sole interpreter for emergency response, medical diagnosis or treatment, legal proceedings or rights, financial transactions or investment decisions, immigration matters, law-enforcement interactions, safety instructions, or any situation where an error could cause serious harm.

Use a qualified human interpreter or appropriate licensed professional for high-stakes communication.

8. Third-party services

The active speech-recognition, translation, text-to-speech, hosting, authentication, analytics, and payment paths may include third-party providers. Provider availability and processing may depend on the mode, language, region, device, and fallback path selected or shown in the product.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Run Up Studio is not responsible for third-party products outside its reasonable control.

9. Paid plans, renewals, and cancellation

Before any paid purchase, the checkout page must display the price, billing period, included usage, material limits, whether the plan renews automatically, and how to cancel. By completing purchase, you authorize the disclosed charges.

You may cancel an auto-renewing subscription through the account or billing portal made available to you. Cancellation stops future renewal charges and normally does not erase access already paid for through the current billing period. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

10. Beta and changing features

Some or all of the service may be offered as a beta. Beta features may be incomplete, unstable, unavailable, or changed without notice. We may add, remove, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, providers, languages, plans, or the service when reasonably necessary.

11. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address security risks, abuse, legal obligations, unpaid charges, material violations, or harm to other users or the service. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Notice.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, and suitability for a particular conversation or outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Run Up Studio and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of opportunity, reputational harm, or decisions made from inaccurate or delayed interpretation.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability arising from the service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100, unless applicable law requires a different amount.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, security, or operational changes. The page will show the effective date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it through the service or account contact information where reasonably practicable.

15. Governing terms and contact

The final legal entity name, mailing address, governing law, and dispute terms will be published before paid general availability. Until then, this page is a pre-launch product contract draft and should not be used to imply that paid commercial terms are final.

Questions may be sent to [email protected].

This product-specific draft must be reviewed against the final company entity, jurisdictions served, provider contracts, retention design, subscription flow, and actual production behavior before launch.
